THANK YOU! so many houses have been absolutely ruined with the flipping trends and all. I dont want to buy a doll house on the outside with some bizarre ultra mod inside that just doesnt work or function.

y’all are so sensitive. i swear you’re pretending to miss the point of this one purpose 😭😭 it’s different than asking for reassurance than it is to know you’re amazing and only say that so people compliment you. let’s use context clues.

thank you kindly ! -- I was beginning to think my messaging was not clear... I see a lot of people advocate for those fishing without considering the folks taking on an enormous emotional load to continuously comfort them.

The people who bought one of the homes that had been in our family over 100 years took out the staircase like that too and every charming thing about it and made it so boring and plain. And spent almost 2 million to buy it and then a lot to rip everything out and now asking so much for it, when it looks beautiful outside but inside anyone will want to redue to make thier own now and probably try to add back the charm. It hurts to see beautiful home torn to be modern decor style when could just build or buy one. I have always loved older homes and not cookie cutter or has character from past and floorplans not like every other house. I had someone( a designer )come to help do mine and said rip it all down and start over nothing special. We have 5 fireplaces all unique and wood panel library and so many things that I liked so we did the design and contracting ourselves .

but its true tho, compare to my batchmates I have the least talent in drawing. I always feel embarrassed submitting my plates because I know I lack the skills. I wasnt fishing for compliments its a genuine reaction from me when someone says I draw well. Believe me, I dont and its uncomfortable to hear someone say you do when you yourself know you dont.

I don’t like this trend. Stop this. Maybe those kind of people do truly need it. It doesn’t take away any cost from you to at least give them a thumbs up. Acknowledging other people’s good work can also simultaneously help you too in return. And when we’re in a positive environment where we motivate each other in our work, that’s when productivity grows. Your perception is your reality. Maybe YOU are the one who’s insecure all along. I’ve learned it time and time again, not to judge other people from YOUR point of view!

I do t think ppl in the comebts understand that while this behaviour does often stem from insecurity, that doesnt make it any less shitty or annoying. People who fish for compliments are literally manipulating the people around them into praising them by utilising social queues and standards of politeness, making people feel trapped in an awkward situation and paying a compliment in order to get out of it. This is why i no longer indulge these kinds if behaviours, i dint appreciate being manipulated, nor will i allow you to intentionally put me in a situation where i am supposed to feel uncomfortable. Fishing for compliments and just needing a little bit of a boost or pep talk are not the same thing, and if you need the latter, dont go about it by doing the former. This strange, passive aggressive method of communication is not cute, nor will it give you that validation you actually need, just vapid mindless compliments you've squeezed out of people unnaturally

I had a friend. For their privacy, I won’t name them. She was exactly like this, usually fishing for compliments. One day I got sick of it, and kinda snapped. Along the lines of “Why do you need so much affection you aren’t even that pretty anyway is it that you’re insecure?” Which, was wrong of me. I had always known she was insecure. She ran out the classroom crying. Despite my teachers protests, I went after her. Turns out her parents have been fat shaming and hurting her since she wasn’t “perfect in her appearance.” She found her way to cope by trying to get compliments from others. Years later, we’re best friends but I really hope that before you guys snap like I did, just think abt their background. They might just be hurt inside.❤

I always loved living in my townhouse on campus because it literally was just one massive community and it felt much more inclusive and less polarizing compared to modern demands. It feels like everyone nowadays wants extreme privacy and to disconnect from the people around them, which to me is a bit depressing.

well you got some points but easy to maintain or cost efficient.. Depends on your climate. I live in a rainy area and they decided to make alot of those "modern buildings" (I call them " Minecraft starterhouses ") but alot of those roofs are flat.. I don't think I have to say more then : Rainy... Flat roofs.. Long story short : Alot of costs add up in a short time.

That one is me… Well I don’t do it because of fishing. I just don’t think that my art is good enough. And I don’t need compliments for my art. But people give them and I don’t know what to answer for those. Because basic ”thanks” or anything sounds too boring to answer them… it’s like you say ”okay Idfc” or it feels like you’re selfish. But back to the point I personally think that I’m not good enough.

There are 30 skyscrapers taller than the original Twin Towers were. There are 150 skyscrapers around the world more than 1,000 feet tall. Plenty of people must have been trained over the decades to design the steel supports for skyscrapers. But when and where have any engineers or scientists discussed that steel distribution in the last Two Decades? What happens if you ask ChatGPT? ÷÷÷÷÷÷÷÷÷÷÷÷÷÷÷÷÷÷÷÷÷÷÷÷÷÷÷÷ The distribution of steel in a skyscraper more than 1,000 feet tall is generally such that the majority of the steel is concentrated in the lower sections of the building. This is because the lower portions must bear the weight of the entire structure above them, requiring more robust and stronger materials. Here is a generalized breakdown of how the steel might be distributed by percentage in each 10% segment of the building's height: 1. **Bottom 10% (0-10%)**: Approximately 25-30% of the total steel 2. **10-20%**: Approximately 15-20% of the total steel 3. **20-30%**: Approximately 10-15% of the total steel 4. **30-40%**: Approximately 8-10% of the total steel 5. **40-50%**: Approximately 7-8% of the total steel 6. **50-60%**: Approximately 5-7% of the total steel 7. **60-70%**: Approximately 4-5% of the total steel 8. **70-80%**: Approximately 3-4% of the total steel 9. **80-90%**: Approximately 2-3% of the total steel 10. **Top 10% (90-100%)**: Approximately 1-2% of the total steel These percentages are illustrative and can vary depending on the specific design, structural requirements, and architectural choices of the building. The key point is that the lower sections require significantly more steel to support the structure, while the amount of steel needed decreases as you move higher up the building. - ChatGPT ÷÷÷÷÷÷÷÷÷÷÷÷÷÷÷÷÷÷÷÷÷÷÷÷÷÷÷÷÷ ChatGPT must be a conspiracy theorist. I had no idea what the response would be before asking the question.

I pulled all-nighters often. When you get close to the end everyone does. You can get the work done and I felt good about it. It was novel. Years later my employer wanted my project done and suggested that I do an all nighter. I said no. By that time I was mindful of “Working for free.” We even had a client that found out we could work the weekend to get his drawings done. Today I like reading how architects should be in a union.
